Fatherless, Motherless, Childless: A 40-Year War (Part 1)

Wednesday, September 8th, 2010

PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania, SEPT. 7, 2010 (Zenit.org).- Brian Gail’s new trilogy captures the action and drama of a very real 40-year war between good and evil, selfishness and true love, Popes and businesspeople, Divine mercy and sin.

His first book, “Fatherless,” recently hit the Catholic bestseller list. The second book of his trilogy, “Motherless,” is due to be released in late October (by Human Life International). The third book, “Childless,” is currently being written.

In his books, Gail incorporates his experience as a husband, father and grandfather, a former semi-pro athlete, and a retired CEO and entrepreneur. Currently, he writes, educates, and gives talks worldwide. (more…)

Mr. Gail’s first novel, Fatherless, published by Human Life International, has been selected as readers’ #1 choice for the Catholic Summer Reading Program sponsored by Aquinas and More booksellers, and subsequently has become a best seller.

As a compelling voice in the New Evangelization called for by Pope John Paul II, Mr. Gail has been invited by the Catholic Archdiocese of Westminster to deliver a keynote address welcoming His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI to England for its annual Theology of the Body lecture on September 14. Mr. Gail will speak on the topic “In the Service of Woman – Men are Called to Greatness”, a theme chosen to highlight the modern secular crisis in Britain and the world. (more…)

American Downfall, Fictionalized

Monday, April 12th, 2010

Former Madison Avenue advertising executive Brian J. Gail has published his first novel, Fatherless.

Already in its fourth printing, it’s the first of three planned novels the Catholic author refers to as “the American tragedy in trilogy.”

Gail recently spoke with Register senior writer Tim Drake about the book from his winter home on Jupiter Island, Fla.

Tell me about your family and growing up.

I was born and raised in Philadelphia. My father was a salesman. My mother was a full-time homemaker. I have two brothers and one sister, all younger. We are extremely close. Our mom made it clear to each of us that the faith is the pearl of great price. One brother and one sister went through divorces they didn’t want. Another lost a spouse and child at Christmas in a car accident. My wife and I lost a child, who was bipolar, to suicide. It is a testament to our mother’s fidelity to her vocation that we’re still all in the sacraments and each very much connected to the life of the Church. (more…)
